In a mission to update all videos to dvd we bought this set. The Scream Collection. It does what it says on the box. Watch Courtney Cox meet her Hubby to be Davd Arquette. Jamie Fox who now snogs the ghost whisperer. All good.

The 90's saw lots of different takes on horror but it was slasher horror which seemed to have gone quiet after the 80's golden age of slasher. It wasn't until the mid 90's that slasher horror came back and it was these three movies that boosted that. Of course all good things have there bad side and the bad side was the amount of Scream clones that were released like Urban Legend and etc. Of course I'm not going to count I Know What You Did Last Summer because that was written by Scream, Scream 2 writer Kevin Williamson.

SCREAM, 1996, Directed by Wes Craven, Written by Kevin Williamson, 5 Stars:
When fellow students start getting hacked up by a killer wearing a ghost costume a group of savvy youngsters become aware that they are in a real life horror movie. Sidney presscot (Neve Campbell) is the main victim of our ghostly friend who always escaped the killers clutches. And anyone who gets in the killer's way is butchered. The rest of the group consists of horror movie geek Randy (Jamie Kennedy), Stu Mauncher (Mathew Lillard), Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) and Tatum Riley (Rose McGowan), of course they're not the only stars the film also includes Deputy Dewey (David Arquette), Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) and Principal Himbry (Henry Winkler) so you're sure to be entertained by the stars alone. This is a movie you just have to love with an awesome twist which I won't reveal anything about. After you watch this you will literally kill anyone who gets in your way to get your hands on the sequels.

SCREAM 2, 1997, Directed by Wes Craven, Written by Kevin Williamson, 5 Stars:
Two years after the first Woodsboro killings seen in Scream, our ghost costume wearing killer is back and he's setting his sights on Sidney Presscot who is now at a college in Ohio along with Randy and yet again is joined by our loveable Deputy Dewey and annoying Gale Weathers who in the movie who can honestly say you don't want her to die? The opening of the film Stab (based on the book The Woodsboro Killings by Gale Weathers) is attracting a lot of media attention after two college students are butchered (deaths by the way are well executed) during the screening of the movie. The film includes more stars that aren't actually in this film very long (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and (Jada Pinkett Smith). Scream 2 contains more horror film rules said by Randy yet again. We also see more of Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) now out of prison during the new killings he is a prime suspect unsurprisingly. As with Scream the twist in this brilliant follow up does not let down.

SCREAM 3, 2000, Directed by Wes Craven, Written by Ehren Kruger, 4 Stars:
Stab 3 has been released and ghostface returns still stalking Sidney Prescott. Naturally Gale Weathers and Deputy Dewey make there appearances. Gale Weathers stalking the film makers and Deputy Dewey who is guarding Parker Posey one of the stars. Parker Posey plays the fictional version of Gale Weathers and always gets into arguments with the real life Gale Weathers which comedy ensues. After two immense twists you expect another twist at top class which the twist is at, oh boy is it one hell of a twist but despite that Scream 3 fails to live up the it's predecessors. We also discover Randy's surname and a backstory to Sidney's mother Maureen Presscot. We also see a bit more of Cotton Weary. Scream 3 also seems like a more supernatural take as Sidney is constantly haunted by her dead mother but don't worry there's a reason for that which is explained in the movie. Some people would tell you to avoid this alltogether, I say otherwise.

I'm very happy to say there will be a Scream 4 written by Kevin Williamson and hopefully directed by Wes Craven. However due to the ending of Scream 3 I think it'll turn up quite bad, despite Kevin writing it, I mean how do you follow up that kind of ending? Thank you for reading this review and don't hesitate to buy these films.
